Carol was stunned by the news of her winnings, describing the phone call she received from the foundation as a surreal moment. At first, she couldn’t believe what was happening, repeating several times, “You’re kidding me? Are you serious? I love Soldiers’!”
Carol chose to support the Soldiers’ 50/50 after receiving exceptional care from the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital’s healthcare champions. “Soldiers’ is unlike any other hospital. I felt so supported and cared for during my stay. I wasn’t just a number; I was me.”
Carol says her winnings will go toward giving back to the charities and communities she believes in most. When she came in to pick up her cheque for $22,848, Carol brought a cheque of her own, making a substantial donation back to the Soldiers’ Foundation. There’s no telling how many others will benefit from her boundless generosity, but Carol made one thing abundantly clear, she loves Soldiers’ Hospital.
Soldiers’ 50/50 raffle is managed by the Soldiers’ Foundation and works to generate funding for areas of emerging need within Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
