Maria, 66, says she plays the lottery often and prefers instant tickets. “I expected maybe a $5 win – nothing this big,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I discovered my win while at home and I was very surprised when I counted the zeroes!”
Maria told her husband about her big win first. “He couldn’t believe it,” she said. “We jumped and danced and hugged each other.”
Maria plans to build a garage with her winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at The Wahta Station on Muskoka Road in Bala.
