A call by a community member to the OPP at 6:50 p.m. on April 16, 2022 reporting an unwanted person at a Beauchamp Court, Midland home has resulted in numerous firearms related charges for a Penetanguishene resident.
Responding officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP located Alex Daka 39 years of Penetanguishene near the scene who was arrested as part of another ongoing investigation.
Further investigation of property the accused had in his possession resulted in the seizure of the following, a .22 calibre handgun with ammunition along with two airsoft pistols and an edged weapon.
As a result the arrested person has been charged with the following offences.
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (four counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts)
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (14 counts)
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (seven counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
Yes lots of weapon charges here!!! So what happens is these charges will be plea bargained away, and a slap on the wrist!!!!! This is the typical approach to these criminals, no real punishment and then the government turns around and make law abiding citizens their punching bag. Lets get rid of handguns, rifles, you name it and anything that looks like a weapon and we will solve all the violence.
