The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with impaired operation and weapons charges.
On November 13, 2024, at about 11:50 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were proactively patrolling the area of Front St in the City of Orillia and conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was conducted and upon officers’ observations officers determined the driver to be impaired. Upon further investigation several drug paraphernalia and a large 350mm (13.5 inch) Machete style knife was located under the drivers seat.
As a result, Tyler MACISAAC, 33-years-old, from Oro-Medonte has been charged with:
- Adult Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
- Adult Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Adult Fail to Comply with Probation Order X 2
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in December 2024. As a result of these charges, his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
