Artists Selected For OMAH’s Annual Juried Art Exhibition

The Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) is excited to announce the selected artists for its 23rd annual juried landscape exhibition. Created in honour of Franklin Carmichael, a member of the Group of Seven and an Orillia native, this exhibition invites artists from across Canada to reimagine the Canadian landscape in various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and media arts.

This year’s jurors are renowned artist Tony Bianco, known for his work on over 100 coins produced by the Royal Canadian Mint, and Matt Coles, Director of the Algonquin Art Centre in Algonquin Park. They reviewed 183 submissions and selected 50 works from 47 artists.

The jurors emphasized the significance of the Canadian landscape as both a source of national pride and a site facing critical challenges, including climate change and habitat loss.

  • Exhibition Dates:October 26, 2024 – January 18, 2025
  • Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 11 AM to 4 PM
