Driver Attends Orillia OPP Detachment To Report Collision, Gets Charged With Impaired

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male driver for impaired related offences after attending Orillia Detachment to report a collision.

On May 28, 2024, just before noon, two parties attended Orillia OPP to report a collision that had occurred just prior to attending in the downtown area of the City of Orillia. Officers attended to speak with the drivers and found the one male young driver to be showing numerous signs of being intoxicated.

As a result, Stanton McKinnon, 33-year-old of Oro-Medonte Township has been charged with Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in June 2024. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.
