The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two people with impaired operation related charges over the May long weekend.
On May 18th, 2024, just before 6:00 p.m., Orillia OPP officers responded to reports of a single motor vehicle into a tree on Concession Road M-N in Ramara Township. Officers responded with Ramara Fire, located the vehicle and a female driver. The female driver was showing signs of being intoxicated by alcohol.
As a result, Allison Harvey, 22-year-old of Ramara has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired-alcohol
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On May 19th, 2024, just after 2:00 a.m., Orillia OPP officers were on general patrol on Highway 12 in Oro-Medonte Township when a vehicle was observed swerving on the road. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the female driver was showing numerous signs of being intoxicated by alcohol.
As a result, Sarah Holmes, 41-year-old of Clearview Township has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired-alcohol
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
