BANAC and Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team in partnership with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is offering first and second dose walk-in appointments at the Indigenous Community COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday July 6, 2021:
Location: Rotary Place – 100 University Avenue
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Walk-ins are available to Indigenous individuals age 12 years of age and older, living in the Simcoe Muskoka Region. Non-Indigenous individuals who live in the same household as an Indigenous adult receiving the vaccine and are 12 years of age or older are also eligible. Second doses must be administered 28 days after first dose of Moderna or Pfizer or eight weeks after a first dose of AstraZeneca with informed consent.
Individuals are encouraged to dress for the weather as they may be required to wait outdoors before entering the clinic. They are also reminded to bring a health card, identification that confirms Indigenous ancestry, a list of any medications they are taking, wear a loose-fitting shirt that allows easy access to the upper arm and bring any assistive devices as needed (e.g., scooter, wheelchair, cane).
Those needing support in acquiring Indigenous ancestry identification can contact their local Indigenous Service Organization.
