Canadian free-style skier Megan Oldham, of Parry Sound won a bronze medal in Women’s Ski Slopestyle on Saturday at the 2021 Aspen XGames. It was the 19 year-old’s second in as many days after an impressive silver medal performance in Friday’s opening day Women’s Big Air event. It marks a promising start to the games after her Big Air gold medal in Oslo’s 2020 XGames.

Megan’s bronze was eclipsed by the gold medal performance of US-born Eileen Gu, competing for China. The rookie sensation was impressed with Oldham’s performance and later gushed, ‘Megan’s switch-nine was the sickest thing I saw all day!’

While several of Saturday’s events were postponed due to snow and limited visibility, the Women’s Ski Slopestyle went ahead as scheduled. Due to the less-than-ideal conditions, Oldham took an approach that did not include her ‘hardest tricks’ yet managed to put on a solid performance including the tricky switch-nine.
