Douglas Rex-Graham of Orillia is celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE.
Douglas, a 56-year-old father, said he was playing his ticket early one morning while having his coffee when he discovered his win. “I thought I won $20, so I scanned it with my phone and saw $250,000. I didn’t believe it, so I closed the app and scanned it again and again then started counting the words,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
Douglas said when he texted his wife a screen shot of the app, she asked if it was real. “We freaked out together over the phone,” he laughed. “Then shared a big hug when she got home.”
He plans to use his winnings to pay some bills, complete some home improvements and invest for the future. “I plan to celebrate with a trip somewhere sunny with my wife,” he concluded.
