OPP Release Name Of Missing Swimmer From The Muskoka River

Bracebridge OPP are releasing the identity of the swimmer who failed to resurface on the Muskoka River in Bracebridge.

On Saturday, July 3, 2021, shortly after 7 p.m., officers from the Bracebridge OPP, along with Bracebridge Fire and Muskoka Paramedic Services responded to a swimmer in distress on the Muskoka River off Golden Beach Road. The 18-year-old male did not resurface and search efforts were assisted by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU).

The search was suspended due to visibility and safety concerns and resumed early this morning on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Shortly before 9:00 a.m., the body of the missing swimmer was recovered.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Noel Caoile, 18 years old of Mississauga.
