On March 20, 2021 at 8:46 p.m. Southern Georgian Bay OPP attended a Midland Avenue apartment complex in response to a noise complaint from tenants.
Officers entered into an investigation during which time they were assaulted by a person in the apartment of interest.
22-year-old Dawson Dion of Midland was arrested and charged with Assault a Peace Officer (two counts), Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts), Causing a Disturbance, Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property, Resist Peace Officer.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear via video before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
