Man Arrested After A Firearms Incident In Lake Of Bays

Huntsville OPP has arrested 23-year-old, Justin Carrier-Copan after an incident on Elder Drive in the township of Lake of Bays in which gunshots were reportedly heard. Police responded to a weapons call involving a firearm around 3:53 a.m. at the residence, according to an OPP press release.

As a result of the dispute, one person suffered minor injuries, which were treated by Muskoka Paramedic Services at the scene.

Carrier-Copan faces several charges, including assault with a weapon and possession of a firearm without a licence. He is being held in police custody and scheduled to appear in court on November 9th.

Police cleared the scene last night, however, the investigation is ongoing.
