Haliburton Highlands OPP executed an arrest warrant that resulted in the seizure of a firearm in Minden Hills.
During the evening of February 7, 2024, the Haliburton Highlands OPP crime unit with the assistance from members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed an arrest warrant for a wanted person at a residence in Minden Hills.
The individual was located and arrested without incident and a firearm was seized.
The arrested person was charged with:
– Assault – two counts
– Choking – two counts
– Careless storage of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm without a licence
This person was held for a bail hearing.
No further details will be provided in order to protect the identity of the victim.
