On Saturday March 26, 2022 at approximately 8:45 a.m., members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 124 in Strong Township.
Police conducted an Alcohol Screening Demand (ASD) to which the driver failed and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Nichole StMichel, 37 years-of-age, of Beaverton Ontario, was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in Sundridge Court on Thursday April 28, 2022.
Scary to think you aren’t even safe from drunk driver’s at 8:45 in the morning. Stupid to think otherwise.
