OPP Make Arrest In Midland Restaurant Break, Enter And Theft Investigation

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment have made an arrest in a recent break and enter to a Midland waterfront restaurant.

Officers responded to a report of a break, enter and theft to a King Street, Midland restaurant which occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. September 29, 2024 involving two persons in which a significant amount of liquor was stolen.

Through investigation using electronic surveillance, one person was identified and charged after being located later in the morning intoxicated at a nearby coffee shop. Officers continue to investigate in an effort to identify the second involved person.

Charged is Christopher Robin Macleod 50 years of Midland with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.
