In April 2021 Crime Unit members of the West Parry Sound OPP, assisted by the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), OPP Digital Forensics, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Internet Child Exploitation Unit, DRPS Electronic Crimes Unit and Timmins Police Service initiated an investigation involving child luring through the internet.
As a result of the investigation, Ramiz Alda, 30 years-of-age of Oshawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with
Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on July 29, 2021.
