Two People Arrested In Connection With Penetanguishene Break And Enter

At 8:56 a.m. July 11, 2021 two suspicious people were observed at a Sheridan Street, Penetanguishene home and police responded after an observant citizen called police. The address had previously been the victim of a theft on July 10, 2021. Southern Georgian Bay OPP arrived at the home and arrested the two people known to the officers on the property and transported them to Detachment for further investigation.

Charged in relation to this investigation is Kayla Lecamp 33 years of Cedar Point, ON, who is charged with Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence and further with Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

Also charged in connection with this investigation is Jonathan Michael Sylvester 32 years of Christian Island, ON, who is charged with Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts), Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts).

The accused is further charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to a shoplifting investigation at an electronics retail outlet on Simcoe County Road 93, Midland on July 9, 2021 – Theft Under $5000- Shoplifting, Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 in Canada. The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
