In response to the Province of Ontario’s safe re-opening plan, the Town of Gravenhurst is preparing to fully re-open its doors at Municipal Office for in-person transactions beginning Tuesday, March 1st.
“While our doors at Town Office will re-open to the public next week, we’ve very much proven to effectively carry-on meaningful customer service alternatively with the public throughout the pandemic. We’re encouraging the public to continue to engage with staff electronically or by phone, but the option to visit us in person will soon be available too,” said Scott Lucas, Chief Administrative Officer.
Members of the public entering all Town facilities, including the Municipal Office, Centennial Centre and Gravenhurst Public Library will be required to self screen at the entrance, physically distance, sanitize and continue to wear face masks until these Provincial restrictions are lifted. “All efforts are in place at our facilities to provide a safe and healthy environment for all visitors and staff,” explained Lucas.
Effective March 1st, the public will no longer be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination at the Centennial Centre or the Gravenhurst Opera House. Additionally, capacity limits will be removed. The first public performance in the newly renovated Opera House is scheduled for March 26th.
Council and Committee meetings will continue to be conducted electronically until further notice. The public is always encouraged to view and participate in meetings virtually via www.gravenhurst.ca/livestream.
While measures continue to be monitored and evaluated in relation to guidance from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the Town would like to thank the public for their continued cooperation, understanding and flexibility as we all manage a changing landscape and move closer to a state of new normalcy.
