Deerhurst Resort will be helping the Tegan and Sara Foundation get “a little bit closer” to their donation goals for the year. Director of Marketing for Deerhurst Resort, Marcie Juliao, reports, “when we learned about the incredible work being done by Tegan and Sara through their foundation, and that they are donating $1 from each of their ticket sales, we were immediately inspired as hosts of the show to do the same”. Donations go to the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+, women and girls.
The band proudly exclaims, “When we started Tegan and Sara Foundation we wanted to give back to our community, to support and raise up LGBTQ+ women and girls. The $1 per ticket raised has been a major source of funding for the foundation, and we are so proud that our fan community and the matching funds from Deerhurst Resort, is helping to fund programming and support of grassroots organizations, activists and communities that often go unrecognized by major funding institutions. Since its inception in 2016, TSF, has reached tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ community members through grants for over 100 different organizations in nearly every state and province in North America.
Deerhurst Resort is proud to support this important cause as part of their recognition, education and support of the LGBTQ+ community. As LQBTQ+, women and girls face greater socioeconomic and health disadvantages compared to male, heterosexual and cisgender counterparts, the Foundation raises awareness and funding to fight for equality and justice through their programming.
