Officers were responding to a request for a wellness check at a residence on Queen Street when information was received regarding a vehicle that had reportedly been associated with the residence.

An officer subsequently located the vehicle in a parking lot with the driver inside and the keys in the ignition. While officers were speaking with the occupants, suspected controlled substances were observed in plain view in the centre console area.

As a result of the investigation, Corbin Rubinski, a 44 year old male from Hillsdale has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Mathamphetamine
• Have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
• Possess more than one licence

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, shortly after 2:30 a.m., OPP officers responded to a call for a disturbance at an address on Hugel Ave in Midland. Officers located an injured person who was taken to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, an accused was identified and a warrant was obtained for their arrest.

On September 1, 2026, OPP officers arrested and charged Tryson Cada, a 20-year-old male from Midland, with the following Criminal Code Offences:

• Aggravated Assault
• Assault with a Weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 2, 2026.

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to an active assault occurring at a convenience store located on Midland Avenue, in Midland. Officers arrived and spoke with a 17-year-old male who reported being assaulted. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. The investigation determined that a weapon was involved in the altercation. As a result, three youths were identified and charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

A 16-year-old from Midland was charged with;

• Assault with a weapon
• Assault
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
• Breach of Recognizance

Additionally, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Midland, have each been charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

The identities of the accused are protected under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). All three are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice youth court at a future date to answer to the charges.

The investigation determined this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Between Thursday August 13, 2026 and the early morning of Friday, August 14, 2026, officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP B Platoon located and charged three impaired drivers with the assistance of the general public. Following the initial call of possible impaired drivers officers were able to locate each vehicle and conduct an impaired driving investigation, each driver was transported to the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, three individuals were charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

Mackenzie Lowe, 25 years old of Midland, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Erin Phillips, 44 years old of Midland, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Sara Murray, 39 years old of Tay Township, was charged with:

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Additionally, B Platoon located and arrested an additional impaired novice driver on Sunday August 23, 2026

Andrew Udoh, 43 years old of Midland, was charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Dangerous Operation
• Novice Driver – Clood Alcohol Concentration above zero
• Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
• Fail to notify change of address

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
