Two youths are facing several charges after a physical altercation occurred between students at a high school in Huntsville.
On May 24, 2023, at 1:45 p.m., the Huntsville (OPP was contacted by school administrators reporting a possible assault. Officers began an investigation into the allegations and were made aware of a video circulating on social media.
As a result, a 15-year-old female and a 17-year-old female, both from Huntsville were charged with:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Theft under $5,000
- Forcible confinement
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
