(Photos) Orillia OPP Looking For Tips In Relation To A Hate-Motivated Crime

Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the publics’ assistance to identify individual(s) in relation to a hate-motivated crime.    

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, police responded to multiple reports of vandalism in the Gill Street and James Street area of Orillia, where property and vehicles had been defaced with hate-motivated graffiti.

The Orillia OPP is asking residents and businesses in the Gill Street and James Street area to review their surveillance footage for any suspicious activity between the hours of 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, to 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time. The OPP takes hate-motivated crimes seriously, as these offences are illegal under the Criminal Code of Canada and can have lasting impacts on individuals and communities. Our priority is to conduct a thorough investigation while working to maintain public safety and community trust.
