The Ontario Provincial Police has arrested and charged a fourth individual in relation to Elnaz Hajtamiri’s kidnapping investigation.
On May 24, 2023, Adams Suleman Ankamah, age 29 of Brampton, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Kidnapping
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $ 5000
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on June 1, 2023.
An outstanding arrest warrant has been issued for Deshawn Davis, age 35 of Toronto. Police also are looking to identify and speak to the individual(s) who rented vehicles in December 2021 (photo attached). This individual, or individuals, are not suspects, but may have information related to this case. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or through the dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415.
A $100,000 joint OPP and York Regional Police reward is available for anyone with information that will lead to Elnaz’s whereabouts.
Elnaz, 37 years old at the time, was abducted at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 12, 2022, from a residence on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach by three suspects dressed in police gear, but not actual uniforms. They fled in what is believed to be a white Lexus RX sport utility vehicle.
Hajtamiri stands approximately 160 cm (5’3″) tall. She is of slim build and had shoulder-length black hair until it had been cut to a shorter length before she was abducted. Photos of Elnaz and the suspects are available at opp.ca/news/#/mediakit.
