The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a female with impaired operation.
On May 15, 2024, at about 12:07 p.m., an officer from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) was proactively patrolling Highway 11 North Bound at Line 13 and observed a vehicle on the side of the Highway. While speaking with the female driver police entered into an impaired investigation resulting in the request of an Approved Screening Device (ASD). As a result, a failure was registered, and the driver was arrested.
As a result, Dale Morten, 60-years-old, from Oro-Medonte has been charged with:
Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Adult Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Adult Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Adult Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in June 2024. As a result of these charges, her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
