The Orillia OPP were contacted on April 28th, 2023 shortly before noon regarding a male who had gone fishing and failed to return home at the scheduled time.
The Orillia OPP immediately started their investigation. A short time later an abandon boat was located in the Bass Lake area.
The Orillia OPP Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services and Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) have been searching the area extensively.
The Orillia OPP is requesting shoreline property owners in the Bass Lake area to search their property water line.
As of May 2nd, 2023 Orillia OPP Marine Unit assisted by USRU and the OPP K9 unit will be continuing to search Bass Lake.
