Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) currently have Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst closed to allow for highway repairs after a large sinkhole developed.
Just before 2:00 p.m. on March 27, 2025, Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to reports of a large sinkhole on Highway 11 North near Sparrow Lake Route D in Gravenhurst, a number of vehicles had collided with it and sustained damage. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Highway 11 North is closed at Coopers Falls Road and police are asking motorists to avoid the area in order to allow crews to safely make the necessary repairs. The closure is expected to continue until early on Friday morning.
