The Town of Bracebridge is seeking feedback on two proposed designs to refurbish the bandshell in Memorial Park. Members of the community are invited to review the proposed designs and complete an online survey to provide their feedback by Friday, March 29 at engagebracebridge.ca/bandshell.
The bandshell has been a focus in Memorial Park for more than a century and has seen many iterations. The current bandshell structure, restored in 2002, is in a declining state of repair and a new structure is needed to support its existing use and enhance the park.
The Downtown Master Plan recommends improvements to Memorial Park because it plays a key role as a passive community space in Downtown Bracebridge. It is considered an opportunity site in the Master Plan Study due to its prominence, central location and regular community use.
As part of the 2024 Municipal Budget and Business Plan, the Town is proposing the construction of a new bandshell structure. In consultation with Mitchell Jensen Architects, two options are being proposed that address the desire for a new, updated bandshell while maintaining consideration of the original design and location.
