The Huronia West OPP located and arrested a driver for impaired operation as a result of a 9-1-1 call reporting an unsafe driver.
On Monday, June 21, 2021, at 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of an erratic driver travelling westbound on Horseshoe Valley Road. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Highway 26 and an investigation began.
During the investigation, signs of impairment were detected and the driver was transported back to the Huronia West Detachment for further tests.
As a result, Amie McMahon, 40-years-old, of Bracebridge, has been charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The driver was given a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
