The Huntsville Public Library is temporarily closed starting March 11, 2020, for immediate repairs to the facility. A date for re-opening is not yet available. Library staff will provide regular updates on huntsvillelibrary.ca and Huntsville Public Library’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
Library users are asked to hold on to their library books, movies, and borrowed library materials. The book drop will be temporarily closed during this time. Any overdue fines accrued during dates of closure will be waived.
Library staff will not be in the library during the closure but they will be available by email. To find staff email addresses, visit huntsvillelibrary.ca.
Most of the library’s programs, including those planned for March Break, have been re-located to other nearby locations and to the library’s Annex at 1 Minerva Street. Some programs have been cancelled. People who have registered for a program will be contacted directly by a member of the library staff.
Amber McNair, Youth Services Librarian, said “March Break is an exciting time for us, and we are happy that we have been able to continue with many of our programs, just in different places. Please check the website and social media for updates about locations, which will now include the Summit Centre and the Annex. We have lots of exciting events happening!”
Maureen Cubberley, Interim CEO said “We are looking forward to re-opening once the repairs are completed. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we are also very grateful to our library users, who have cheerfully accommodated the repair work that has been going on intermittently. This will be a big improvement, and we are happy that this temporary closure will enable the completion of much of that work.”
