Town road crews have begun ‘ice-blading’ operations on local Gravenhurst roads.
The goal of ice-blading is to remove ice build-up on the roadways caused by frequent freeze-thaw cycles that Muskoka experienced this season. This is a proactive measure that will speed up the melting process and assist in improving road quality for vehicular traffic.
Residents are reminded to exercise caution in the areas in which these operations are taking place.
Ice Blading operations have now begun and are expected to continue throughout the week. Operations will include, but are not limited to, the roads listed below:
- Woodsman Chart (off Pineridge Gate)
- Violet St. (between Muskoka Rd. and Bethune Dr.)
- First St. S (between Bethune and Violet)
- Phillip St. E (Bethune Dr. to Sixth St.)
- Austin St. (Winewood Ave. W to Lorne St.)
- Louise St.
- Wagner St. (Louise St. to Gateway Dr.)
- Oriole St.
- Walton St.
- Musquash (Muskoka Rd. 169 to Loon Lk)
- Walton Rd.
- Winhara Rd. (North end)
- Roads east of Bethune Dr. from Pineridge Gate to Phillip St. E, including Hewitt St.
Other roads may be added to the list as temperature and resources permit. Updates will be provided accordingly.
Residents are reminded to drive according to road conditions and that there is no parking on Town roads overnight in accordance with (By-law 2016-92). Any vehicles left on the road will be towed at the owner’s expense. We appreciate your patience. Thank You!
