The Town of Huntsville is seeking public input regarding water access and future amenities in the Echo Bay area on Fairy Lake. Residents are encouraged to attend the public meeting on Wednesday, April 12 at 6:00pm at the Active Living Centre and/or participate in an online survey. Details from both engagement opportunities will be considered by staff and incorporated into an April report for Council consideration.
Public Meeting:
Staff representatives will be available to answer questions and engage residents who have an interest in the two site options proposed, to gather public input on parking, accessibility and amenities needed.

Background:
In October of 2021, a crib, dock and stairs located on the road allowance at the end of South Fairy Lake Road were identified as hazardous and posted to be removed. After the posted deadline of notice had passed (November 12, 2021) the municipality had the structures that were deemed unsafe, removed. Understanding that public access to water is important, two municipal waterfront land sites for public water access are available for discussion at the upcoming public meeting and for the online survey:
Site A: the road allowance that leads to water at the end of South Fairy Lake Road
Site B: 255 Echo Bay Road, aka, Tyland Park
