Erratic Driver On Highway 69 Faces Several Charges

The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with multiple offences.

On May 11, 2024, shortly after 5:30 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP responded to a vehicle driving in an erratic manner on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township. Officers located the vehicle that subsequently tried to evade police. The driver then fled from his vehicle on foot and was arrested shortly after by police.

As a result of the investigation, Jordan MARTIN, 36 years-of-age of Coniston Ontario was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Flight from police
  • Drive motor vehicle – Perform stunt

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 19, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
