Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated an impaired driving investigation following reports of erratic driving in a parking lot.
On September 4, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver. A member of the public reported that a dark-coloured pickup truck towing a boat was driving aggressively and backing into other vehicles.
Officers quickly located the vehicle and, after engaging with the driver, entered into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, the male driver was arrested and transported to the Orillia Detachment.
Thomas Nabrotzky, 62 years old, of New Hamburg, has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date in 2025. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
