Georgian Bay Fire Services responded to the structure fire (South Bay Rd in Georgian Bay Township) with crews from Stations 1, 2, and 3, with assistance from Severn Township and Tay Township. While crews were at the scene, coverage was provided by Muskoka Lakes Fire in the north and the Tay Fire Department in the south.
The call was received at 18:36. Upon arrival, crews observed smoke showing from the residence, and the alarm was upgraded to request mutual aid support.
There were no injuries or fatalities. No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no information is being released regarding the investigation or estimated dollar loss at this time.
The call was made by a passerby who observed smoke coming from the roof area of the structure.
