The Bracebridge Bandits U11 select baseball team has qualified for the Ontario Amateur Softball Association (OASA) Provincial B tournament.
The team made their first appearance at the Eastern Ontario provincial qualifier, held in Frankford, Ontario.
This was the team’s first tournament playing together competitively, outside of their local Bracebridge house league.
The Bandits played four games – against the Frankford Flyers, Napanee Express, Campbellford Cougars, and Peterborough Murphy Windmillers – coming up short in all four match-ups.
“Working with these young athletes is rewarding in many different aspects,” said Andrew Scott, manager and coach. “We create life lessons, team discipline, a positive atmosphere to test their limits in a safe and controlled environment, while focusing on communication skills, and how to support each other.”
The Bandits will compete in the OASA Provincial B tournament August 17-18 in Tara, Ontario.
