Pump up your tires and grab your helmet to join Mayor Karin Terziano for the Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride, taking place on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 6:30pm at River Mill Park. Lead by experienced cyclists the 12-km social bike ride is a wonderful opportunity to give cycling a try all while traveling through a variety of neighbourhoods in Huntsville. The ride is mostly flat, (there are a few hills) and is manageable for cyclists who can ride comfortably for an hour.
The Town of Huntsville and The SportLab are championing the Mayor’s Bike Ride to promote cycling for recreation, transportation, exercise, health, and the environment. Mayor Terziano advocates, “you get the wonderful benefits of social engagement and enjoying our beautiful outdoor environment, all while reducing your carbon footprint when cycling.”
“There are so many benefits to cycling as part of a regular exercise routine,” notes Dr. Lowell Greib of The SportLab, “It can reduce the risk of chronic disease, improve mental health and help manage weight.”
The Mayor’s Bike Ride is the perfect way to be introduced to the sport in a welcoming environment with like-minded individuals. Everyone is welcome to attend.
