Wrong Way driver on Highway 400 in McDougall Township charged with impaired operation and dangerous driving of a motor vehicle.
On March 7, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., the West Parry Sound OPP responded to several calls reporting a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 400. Officers stopped the vehicle safely in the northbound lanes of Highway 400 south of Avro Arrow Road.
As a result of further investigation, Kelli CarmiChael, 53 years-of-age of Erin, Ontario was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 6, 2023. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
This charge marks the 10th driver charged under Criminal Impaired Driving Laws in the West Parry Sound Detachment area in 2023.
