Witnesses Sought After Dog Shot At Simcoe County Forest

Huronia West OPP are currently investigating an incident involving a firearm being discharged within the Simcoe County Forest of Clearview Township.

On April, 3, 2022, a complaint was made to the Huronia West OPP regarding a dog being shot. On April, 2, 2022 at 3:30 p.m, the complainant was walking his dog around “Bear Alley” near Centre Line Road within Clearview Township.

The dog’s injuries appeared to be consistent with a shotgun blast.

Police believe there was a witness nearby and would like to speak with that person or any other persons who may have witnessed the incident.

Police said the dog is recovering and will be fine.
