Lake effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay are expected to intensify tonight and persist into Friday morning. The snow squalls are expected to drift out of the area early Saturday morning as winds increase and become southwesterly.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.
