Discussion:
Lake effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay are expected to intensify tonight and persist into Friday morning. Snow squalls may drift south of the area for a time on Friday before returning Friday night. The snow squalls are expected to continue through Saturday as winds increase and become southwesterly.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
