Who Abandoned Their Ice Hut And Left Garbage On Mary Lake?

The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) is asking the for the public’s help with identifying the individuals responsible for unlawfully leaving their fishing hut and garbage on the ice in Muskoka.

On April 1st, 2022, Conservation Officers responded to a tip from a member of the public regarding a fishing hut that had been abandoned on Mary Lake near the town of Huntsville, just off the North Mary Lake Road. Officers believe the fishing hut was placed at that location near the end of February.

Conservation Officers remind everyone that anglers must remove their huts by March 31st in Fisheries Management Zone 15.
