West Parry Sound OPP Charge Four People After Drug Investigation

The West Parry Sound Detachment the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged four people with weapons and drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Carling Township.

On May 27, 2024, shortly after 11:00 p.m. officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check and observed cannabis readily available. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a firearm, high-capacity magazine, over $1300 of Canadian currency and suspected cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of approximately $100,000.

Masoud Fayez,18-years-old from Oshawa was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon
  • Carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Breach of Recognizance – 3 counts

 

Keanu Johnson, 19-years-old from Uxbridge was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

 

Adelin Munda, 20-years-old from Whitby was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of Weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Personation with intent (Identity Fraud)
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – 3 counts

 

Michael Adewole, 19-years-old from Ajax was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

 

The accused persons were held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 28, 2024.
