On April 8, 2023, at 3 p.m. the East Algoma OPP were called to a restaurant on Oakland Boulevard in Elliot Lake in relation to two people who just ate and drank and were refusing to pay.
The complainant reported that two people just had food and drinks and now were refusing to pay or identify themselves. Police attended and subsequently arrested both people. It was also learned that one of them was currently breaching prior release conditions.
Joseph Sicurella, 39 years-old, of Elliot Lake, was charged with food and lodging fraud is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on April 9, 2023.
Melissa Jones, 44 years-old, of Elliot Lake, was also charged with food and lodging fraud and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 1, 2023.
