Traffic Stop On Hwy. 12 Leads To Impaired Driving Charge

The Orillia OPP have arrested and charged a Barrie man with impaired driving following a traffic stop in Orillia.

On April 10, 2022, shortly after 4:30 a.m, officers on patrol stopped a vehicle on highway 12 in Orillia. Upon speaking with the driver, an impaired driving investigation was initiated.  The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Orillia OPP detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Brandon Ireland, age 27, of Barrie, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on May 10, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
