The Town of Huntsville is pleased to welcome the Prime Minister, the provincial Premiers, and their delegates to Huntsville for the Council of the Federation (COF) Meeting from Monday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The COF Meeting will be held at Deerhurst Resort, and Huntsville and area residents should plan for increased traffic volume in our community from July 21 to 23.
“We look forward to showcasing the beautiful, vibrant community that we call home to the Prime Minister, the Premiers, and the delegates,” shares Mayor Nancy Alcock of the Town of Huntsville. “This marks a unique opportunity to highlight key issues that affect Canadians, and we are so proud to provide the backdrop to facilitate those important discussions.”
On Tuesday, July 22, the Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will make an official visit to Huntsville and embark on a guided arts and culture tour of the Town’s facilities, including a visit to the Algonquin Theatre, Canada Summit Centre, Muskoka Heritage Place and more.
“Huntsville has a rich culture rooted in art, history, and Indigenous representation,” says Jacqueline Surette, Manager of Recreation, Culture and Heritage. “Our tour of Huntsville with the Lieutenant Governor will bring colour to our heritage and give her an immersive experience of our community, including our Indigenous partners.”
