The Muskoka Community Foundation would like to congratulate Lexi Henry who is this year’s Peggy Clark-Guiry Happy Dancing Feet Fund grant recipient.

The Peggy Clark-Guiry Happy Dancing Feet Fund was established in memory of Peggy Clark-Guiry who was a nurse and an avid dancer. She danced her entire life and trained at the Bracebridge School of Ballet into her 60’s. This fund supports young dancers attending the Bracebridge School of Ballet and who are graduating high school and pursuing a post-secondary education. Thee grants support students who are furthering their dance training and develop their artistic skills or who are enrolled in medical focused program.

Lynn DeCaro, Executive Director of the Muskoka Community Foundation noted “The Foundation is proud to administer the Peggy Clark-Guiry Happy Dancing Feet Fund and work closely with the Clark and Guiry families each year as grant recipients are selected. DeCaro added “it is important to recognize that young people play a vital role in creating a healthy and vibrant Muskoka and we are excited to support youth as they pursue valuable post-secondary education that will have a positive impact on the student and our communities.”

DeCaro wanted to thank the Clark and Guiry families as well as other donors who support a total of six education funds held at the Muskoka Community Foundation. “It is because of donors like Mike and Bette who understand the importance of supporting young people, that make it possible for the Muskoka Community Foundation to support so many young people who are heading off to college or university each year”.
