Preliminary rounds have officially wrapped up at the 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships, and Team Canada is set to be well represented across all three disciplines in tomorrow’s Finals in Recetto, Italy.
The 2025 World Championships have brought together over 180 athletes from more than 30 countries, showcasing the best in Slalom, Trick, Jump, and Overall. The competition began on August 26 and will conclude tomorrow, August 31, with all Finals taking place on the waters of Recetto.
Women’s Trick Finals
Paige Pigozzi (Rini) – 8530 points
Neilly Ross – 11,300 points, top seed going into Finals
Men’s Trick Finals
Dorien Llewellyn advanced with 11,410 points, entering in fourth seed.
Women’s Slalom Finals
Three Canadian skiers secured their spots in the Finals:

Canada will have two finalists tied for top seed heading into Sunday’s finals:

Two Canadians head into the Finals in strong positions:
Dorien Llewellyn – 69.6m/228ft, seeded third and sitting first overall after prelims
Ryan Dodd – 70.5m/231ft, tied for top seed
Overall Standings
Canada’s Dorien Llewellyn has his sights set on the Men’s Overall title, currently sitting in first place with one day of Finals separating him from the podium. In the Team Overall race, Team Canada is holding second place, just behind Team USA, and will be aiming to close the gap on the final day of competition.
Looking Ahead
With preliminaries complete, Team Canada has finalists in Slalom, Trick, and Jump as the Championships come to a close. Tomorrow’s Finals will determine not only individual event titles, but also the Overall and Team Overall standings, with Canadian athletes in contention across the board.
