Suspects Wanted After Thefts From The Bracebridge Sportsplex

The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating two separate, and possibly related, incidents of theft from a community centre in Bracebridge.

On January 5, 2026, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. an unknown male party entered a locker room at a community centre located on Clearbrook Trail in Bracebridge and stole a patrons wallet from inside a locked locker. The victims banking cards were utilized a short time later at the Walmart store located on Depot Drive, the suspect then placed the stolen wallet at the victims banking institution (without the bank cards).

On January 16, 2026, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., at the same community centre located on Clearbrook Trail in Bracebridge, an unknown male suspect was able to access a patrons stored items and stole the victims bag including the wallet. Again, the victims banking cards were utilized a short time later at the Walmart store located on Depot Drive, the suspect then placed the stolen belongings at that victims banking institution (without the bank cards).

Officers are continuing to collect evidence, including nearby surveillance footage, and are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the suspect. Images from the initial collection of surveillance data is attached.
