The Orillia OPP have arrested two individuals attempting to enter vehicles in Orillia on June 8, 2022.
On June 8, 2022, shortly before 12:30 a.m. a member of the public noticed an individual around their vehicle. Police were able to locate a suspect matching the description walking with two other individuals.
The suspect was arrested, and during the search police located a prohibited knife in their possession. A second suspect present was wanted by police on an outstanding warrant and was also arrested. The second suspect became combative with police while officers conducted their search.The . Officers were able to subdue the suspect without further incident.
As a result, Police have charged the following individuals:
James White (age33), of Orillia ON, with the following:
- Carry Concealed weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault peace officer with a weapon
- Fail to Comply with probation order
The accused was held for a bail hearing on June 8, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, Ontario.
Darryl Alexander (age 41), of Orillia ON, with the following:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear on July 12, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, Ontario.
